I took my Trike into Shawnee hondatoday to get the Brake recall done. They told me the is a new recall on CSC Trikes involving the Driveshaft. They need to remove the Driveshaft on CSC Trikes and inspect them and weld the driveshaft even if it checks good they still have to add a weld to it. I had them do that recall also while I was there, it only took about 1 1/2 hours, they told me it should take about 2 hours.

The Driveshaft recall only affects the California Side Care Trike.

Why is the weld needed Dave, did they give you any information?

It appears the driveshaft slides back a little and may cause the splines to wear out prematurely. The fix is recommended at the next scheduled service at a CSC Trike dealer to remove the driveshaft inspect it and put 4 spotwelds on the shaft so it will not have a tendency to slide back. It is not an actual recall due to a failure rate of about 1% but they recommend the fix to avoid any problems.
