the shop manual says to used "three bond 1521" adhesive to install the cylinder head cover gasket. Is there a subsitute I can use that's more readily available in my local auto supply stores?

If you are referring to the valve cover gasket that is a rubber "O" ring, you can use permetex. or blue silicone gasket adhesive.

If you mean your actual head gasket, I have used the gasket spray available in local auto parts stores.

I'm refering to the gasket that goes on the cylinder head covers. They are the two covers (one on each side)that is visible and has GL1500 on it. Thanks
