I've polised the pistons, put the new pads in, bleed the rear, bleed the front, back and forth 4 times. Nice clean fluid, no bubbles. Still feels like a big bubble and refuses to lock up the wheel, just slows the bike. Standing still, I can see the pedal bottoming on the floor boards (3 inches to boards from bottom of pedal). Assuming I can get me fingers wiggled into the knooks and crannys, how much ballooning am I expecting my finger to feel?????? Tried to pump them up and blow the hose open, no luck.

Changed the pads while I had the bags off to do the bleeding, because it was spongy this spring. Still had an 1/8 inch left.
Will try the weight on the peddle tonight if I don't find a hose today. All else fails guess I'll do hoses anyhow. Then I'll bleed another 1/2 quart of fluid. I hate taking those bags off.

Should have reported back sooner. Rears seem to be working well currently, still seem a little spongy but well enough to lock em up. Will try to change out the hoses this winter.

Now to think about carbs, there's just a little popping when you roll back the gas. Last time they were done,?, 1993? when the mice chewed up the air filter, and all that filter jammed up the carbs.
