There are more opinions on tires than probably any other subject. You can fit as small as a 175/60 16 to a 205/55 16 in run flat or not. The best ones are directional tread all season and V or better speed rating. Pressure has a lot to do with your preference as long as you run at least 36PSI and no more than the max pressure rating on the tire sidewall.

There are a ton of Darkside threads here and elsewhere legends, what tire, best tire etc. Probably all the info you need there already without having to say any more.

I hate how fast the proper tires wear out, however I had a front flat this summer and the thick sidewalls made it safe & possible to get to a service station for air. How does this work with a darkside tire, a flat would take you out of commission and perhaps be unsafe as it happened wouldn't it?

Not with a ROF- run on flat tire. They have heavy duty sidewalls and can be run on low-to-no pressure for a short distance to get a repair. As said above, see the links and do your homework by reading up the multitude of posts there, so you can make your own decision. It's all there. you'll never get all you questions asked and satisfied until you try it. And you will most likely be in the 85%-95% group of satisfied riders on the DARKSIDE!
