but to say the tire is killing people???? The dumb ones setting a bead with 100 psi, yes.
Right - That's the main retarded deal and the link where one took it to 140psi to get it forced on and blew up.

It's not about running CT's - Just the idiots mounting them.
So obviously - some rims must have a slightly oversize hump bead lock than others.

These are not superbikes knee sliding the turns.
You can't lean cruisers over far enough to get up on the corners of tread before major iron is being sandbelted off.

It's obvious MC tires aren't much good, you hardly ever see an automobile running bike tires.

Obviously if you go back far enough there were only tires, the first car and bike tires were pretty much the same. The 1930 Ford A Coupe weighted a bit more than a long ton, 2200lbs. Each tire had to carry around 700-750lbs. That would have been overkill for the motorcycles of the day.

Mark,

It is very simple. All those who have run dark side and got killed doing it... don't log back on to tell us about it.

Most people I know have friends, ride with friends and would share information to other friends. All my darkside friends are still here and share information. We learn what car tire handles how and what not to do. The loner guy you speak of must have inflated his tire to 100 psi because he knew it all.

Here's my rear MC tire that got replaced with an Austone. It ALMOST made it to 8000 miles and i took it down to (past) the WEAR bars a little.:angel3::ROFL:

Got right around 10K on the Austone, and it looks almost like a new tire.

I don't know why your MC tire wore so fast and badly. I've never had a tire go to the cord. Even at 18,000 miles the rear tire my 1500 bias ply weren't close to showing cord. Ditto the radials on my 1800. That was with both Dunlop E3s and one set of Brookstones on my first 1800. I tend to wear the sides a bit because we have a lot of nice twisty back roads in this area but even on the edges the worst I've ever gotten on the tires was a bit of scalloping. Do you favor the rear brake or carry heavy loads?

Nope.I use both brakes evenly, but i do pull a trailer quite a bit.Not musch trailer pulling with this tire though.I bought this bike in Nov 2012 and the PO had a receipt from the Honda dealer showing brakes tires oil and filters changes 200 hundred miles before i bought it from him.The bike had 63,256 miles on it and the tires WERE new.I use 41lbs air pressure and i honestly pulled that rear tire off at exactly 71,300 miles!!!!! After i bought it,i went on a 10 day camping trip in Arkansas in December. When i got back,it had hardly any tread left in the center.I slow down in plenty of time.Actually i am known for getting 80K out of a car tire on my car of pickup.I also race, and saving your tires plays a HUGE role in how you will finish. I could NOT BELIEVE IT when i looked at the tread again.Cords were showing.Since,i put a Pilot rear on the front and an Austone on the back and i have right at 10K on both. The Pilot is cupping but will probably go another 5K or so.I still think some of these damn MC tires are blems or something. Some go 6K,some go 15K...I know i ain't hard on tires and check pressures all the time.
