I'm also a strong proponent of headlight modulation on bikes. I've had mine for over two years and believe it's been beneficial. I know of at least two occasions where it probably prevented at least a very close call with an accident. If it irritates people they are in the minority and if they hit me it will be deliberate on their part not an accident where they "didn't see" me.
