I know the SEi has the fuel injection, butare all other parts the same? Someone nearby is selling a 86 Aspencade 46K miles, needs some carb and brakework. They were asking 1500.00 I thought the price was a little high, could I use this for a parts bike for my SEi.

Depending on the condition, 1500 could be a good deal. Cant tell much about the interchangeability, though.

There are many parts that will cross between the Aspencade and SEI, the plastic parts of the fairings, bags and fenders are the same, the exhaust system I believe is the same as are the wheels and brakes. There are differences in the electrical system and wiring harnesses but most of the stuff not associated with the engine is interchangeable. $1500 for a runnable, intact 1200 with decent plastic sounds like a good deal to me. Most likely you could make more than that just parting it out. I've sold a couple decent 1100s for $2000 &2500 in the past year or so, a 1200 ought to be worth a bit more in good shape.
