Ok, I just got a 84 GL1200 interstate given to me (i really love my father in law now). I've been looking at the differences between the interstate and the aspencade and I noticed that the aspencade has the digital readout. My question is how hard is it to swap the panels? By this I mean putting the digital readout from a aspencade into my interstate to replace the analog display.

Ha! the grass is always greener eh?
I think there's a reason every manufacturer in the 80's ditched the digital read-outs. When they fail, that's it. I was trying to figure out what I'm going to do when my digital dash fails. maybe we could swap? hehehe.
I don't know the answer to your question, but if I were you, I'd be happy about some nice analog gagues. the digital ones are so "night rider"...I guess that's cool, but I do fear the eminent day when they fail.

you would have to change lots of stuff... gear sensors, temp sensor, speed sensor and the list goes on
