Does anyone know how to remove the bezel on this instrument cover? I want to clean inside it, but I cant figure out how to get it apart.

Thanks,

Ok, lets try this,

Does anyone know how to disassemble the instrument cluster on an 83 aspencade? Clymers book only has the stripped down bike.

Thanks again,

Dave

Well, do tell! How do you get it apart? Is yours the analog or digital set?

Aspencade is digital, the face is a single piece of plastic, supposedly coated on the inside to prevent fogging. So I'd be careful how much cleaning you do on the inside.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I was having password problems.

First you remove the four screws on the back of the instrument cluster. Once that is off, there are five tiny screws holding the black piece that goes around the edge of the bezel. Take those out and that black piece comes off. Once that is off, there are four tiny screws holding the bezel to the body of the display. Take those out and the bezel comes off.

I was able to do this on the bike with the fairing in place. Just be careful about those screws. They are really small and easy to lose.
