My thoughts exactly. I feel more naked without gloves than my M/C jacket.
How are you going to pick the gravel out of your butt if one hand can't hold the tweezers and the other can't hold the mirror?

There is a answer to the butt thing, don't think I will post it here !

Like several have posted, I run three different sets of gloves. My summer gloves are full finger with mesh in areas where allowed.

If I have to roll around on the ground I want my hands to be useable when I'm done. I need them for my work.

and yeah, that gravel-picking thing.........did that once...............

Gloves: Always.

Hands are delicate and there's a few things you don't want someone else doing for you while wait to have the skin grafts heal :waiting:

Yep me too! Always! I have three pairs of gloves, a pair of leather perforated gloves for summer, gaunleted deerskin for most cool weather riding and a pair of Gerbings leather electrically heated gloves for cold weather.
There isn't much over your hand bones but skin so it doesn't take much road rash to do serious damage. I think riding without gloves is just plain foolish.

I find my hands tire more when I wear gloves. I prefer not to wear gloves, but I'll occasionally wear my fingerless ones, and I have real nice leather gloves with gauntlets for cold weather I bought last year.

Gloves - absolutely.
Done so ever since my younger days dirt biking - not even just for wiping out - caught a bumble bee right on the knuckles.....was a 'hurts don't it' you dumb ass for not wearing it!!!!

I also always wear gloves, doesn't matter how far of a ride it is. My gloves are leather with Kevlar lining.

I have a pair of Olympic cold weather gloves I bought in the late 70s. Just don't use heavy gloves around here very often.
The rest of the time I use some ventilated things that seem to work. I have to replace them every year or two.

When I crashed in '88 I was wearing leather M/C gloves. A small stone actually penetrated the leather and drove itself in between the 3rd. & 4th. knuckle of my left hand. Doctor easily got it out, but...what if I hadn't been wearing gloves?

When it's cold, gloves are a no brainer. Here in FLA, in the dog days of summer, I wear fingerless CIBAs with gel-filled palms. Comfortable and keep throttle from slipping in sweaty palms.

Yep

wear half Gloves when hot and Gauntlets(both leather and Gold weather when cold also just a regular set and aviation nimex..keep all in my bag with my rain gear.:)

I work on a military base, and the rule here is gloves, boots, long sleeves, helmet, eye protection, and hi-vis or contratsting colors. They won't let you in without it.

I'm glad that I started out that way, becuase it got me in the habit of wearing protective gear. I always wear light gloves now, just in case of a fall and to keep the sun off.

I wear a breathable glove called a mechanics glove. It has .05mm palm side of leather and the top of the glove is a breathable fabric. And it has a velcro clusure on it to hold the glove on tight. about 20 bucks at any store from Walmart to Menards...;)

Always wear gloves, result of a thirty yard slide back in 69' when an old lady ran a red light and caught the back of my 250 Suzuki and threw me through an intersection. My hands broke my fall and slowed my slide. Took 3 months to be able to use them fully. Been wearing them ever since. A couple of years ago I was visiting my oldest daughter and my son in law took me to a Amish store. Found a pair of gloves made by Hawk called Armor Skin. Synthetic leather palm with mess back. Super comfortable and only cost 6.95. On my second year with first pair and still no holes and palms still good. Went back this year and they still had them and bought 2 more pairs. Should be able to get another year out of first pair. Get really nervous when I ride without them.

Wear gloves just about every time, may not if it is a quick run of a mile or less.

The gloves I have came from (gasp) a Harley Dealer. They have gel in the palms and fingers and fit...well they fit like a glove should.

I find they help keep my hand from betting so tired because of the increased grip. Also the protection is a good idea in my opinion.

It's OK I have a Harley rain suit. They do have some good products.

I usually wear gloves ..just cause I like to .. but when it's 95 out no ,am not paranoid about wearing all the safety gear every time I get on the bike ,if I ever get to the point were I feel that way ..I may reconsider riding at all

AGAT, even if it's 90*, safety equipment is like insurance, it's "in case" something happens. I wear mesh jacket, mesh pants, mesh gloves, they are to protect my skin, it takes too long to grow back if some other idiot does something stupid & I can't ride. :waving:
