Do any of you wear leather chaps or do you have special pants for different weather conditions?

No leather for me...gets to cold in the winter. I prefer Cordura ones myself. I have a pair from Colorado Chaps that I love. They custom make them to fit.

My wife does when we ride but the wing generates so much heat that I never need it. I have a pair but I have only worn them once and we ride down into the 30's here in Iowa.

Leathers in the colder weather, leather chaps when it warms up. When it gets in the high 80's and up I wear denim jeans (better road rash than heat stroke). Would love to get some mesh armored riding pants at some point. Camelback when it's hot or for any extended ride. When it's too hot for the riding jacket and helmet - it's too hot to ride.

I wear them if the temps are going to be below 60 degrees.

I will wear my chaps only if it's pretty cold.

Getting kind of personal, aren't you? And who you calling "chaps"?:cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1:

I use a synthetic windstop/waterproof set of long pants when it gets cool. That saves me having to chap my...self...:)

Any of you other chaps have a response?:dude:

Any temp below about 55 I have my chaps on. If there's ice on the road, I don't ride. Otherwise I ride just about every day.

I've never used leather chaps but I do have a pair of FirstGear HT Air pants I wear at times. They have a water proof liner I can put in for wet or cold weather.

In hot weather I remove the liner and wear them with just shorts underneath.

Both the wife and I have leather chaps. We wear them unless it is too hot - 90's. Carry them in the saddlebags when we don't wear them. Also carry the Frog Togs rain gear. Makes a good wind break if it gets real cold.

I never tried any on to form an opinion.

I have always worn denim jeans, or heavy insulated coveralls. Always a helmet, even in my dirt riding days.

Then after I bought my Goldwing and started riding pavement, I bought a full set of mesh riding gear.

Took a look at those and now I know what my wife needs to get me for Christmas!!:action::action::action:

I want the ones with the armour and the mesh backs sides for summer riding.

I can't stand chaps. I see jokers wearing them like it's a damn fashion show.

I didn't until a few years back I was talking with one of our local paramedics who said that he was getting awfully tired of pulling nylon out of bikers skin .The mental image of him doing that was enough for me I wear them all the time. even in 90'up.

Don't wear chaps, wear leather pants.
If I slide on the pavement I want to protect the rear if ya know what I mean!!
