I just done someting really stupid. I have my new tires here and have decided to strip my bike down myself and not let the dealer do it. I have the bike up and all the bags off and was going to check my diff oil. I started to remove the top "vent cap" and it twisted in two. Now I need a vent cap.

Does anyone know where to get a vent cap? I have already scoured eBay and had no luck.

I would check bikebandit or powersprotspro... or even your honda dealer. I once lost one on a trip and rather than allow water to get in (you know...it was a motorcycle vaction so it rained alot) I took plastic and a rubber band to cover it.

Chris, I did this once on an FJ1200. I didn't see the filler cap and thought the vent was the filler cap and broke it off. My girlfriend took one look at the broken cap and pulled the steel (I think it was chromed) cap off a prefume spray bottle. I glued that on, meking sure the glue didn't block the vent hole. It was a temporary repair but ended up staying on the bike for two years until I sold the FJ.
