I'm planning to go on a Iron Butt ride and I'm looking at options for keeping water easily available at a low cost. There are many drink holders on the market, but I really don't want to have one all the time and I certainly don't want to buy one for one ride.
I was thinking of resting a water bottle in the right side fairing pocket and tie a lanyard to it so it won't go far if it happens to jump out. What's the foolishness in this idea?
