Hi on the 1500 there is two spot lights at the bottom of the fairing can anyone please tell me what size and type of bulb is used for these lamps

They are usually 18 watts. Not sure about the type fitting but there is another thread posted here just today so the information will be in that.

Sounds like you are talking about the corning lights or if they have been changed out they might be driving lights. My 94 GL1500 has the driving lights. They are the 18/18 watt same as andy1800 indicated. The H614 bulb. I got my replacement bulbs from http://www.chrischrome.com/
The part # is 88595 and is listed as "Replacement bulb for #88595 Driving Lights"
If this is the bulb that you need I hope this information helps. I had to order them since I had already used the second element in the bulbs I had.
