Any one who truly believes they have a defective tire with no resolution from the manufacturer and is in the U.S. should file a complaint with the NHTSA.

They wont sweep it under the carpet. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Same here with our Tradings Standards Office. A lot would report it but I can't be bothered. If it had only done a couple of thousand miles then maybe. The important thing is to warn others to check their own tyres.

Dunlop K177

Am curious about the K177 tires. I see a lot of folks on these pages talking about all brands and models of tires. I rarely, if ever, see the 177 mentioned. It is apparently the OEM tire that is shipped with the bike, and the model that my '97 came with when I bought it. The PO had replaced the tires somewhat recently, and so far have had really good luck with them. No imbalance issues, cupping, wobbling, etc. Just a smooth ride, with what I would consider pretty good traction. Is there something I have missed about these tires ? Probably have about 3500 miles on them.
