Dyna beads

Did not find ananswer to my specific question so I'm asking it now. I know dyna beads have been flogged to death on here but here goes anyway!

Has anyone on here become dissatified enough withwhat they thought was a wheel balance problem that they installed dyna beads without any other improvements (like new tires or removing the wheels for rebalance) and had a vast improvement in balance and smooth running, and if you did, did you remove the weights to get it that way or leave them on? Thank you.

Take the weights off! The dynabeads will do a great job of balancing, much better than lead weights. :)

Most MC tires need very little balancing. If the tires are worn there may be an out of round or scalloping problem but balancing would not fix that

Weights come off Dyna Beads do the job. To much is better than to little as far as the beads go

Here is another thing to consider. Dyna Beads don't start balancing until around 20/25 mph. Why wouldn't weights and beads work even better? I know I can feel the difference below 25 mph.

Yes this topic has been flogged to death and Yes Dyna beads do work.... I installed them in my 1800 ... removed all the weights 5 on back wheel and that's a lot and I think 3 on front ...ran it up to 80 or 90 ..smooth is the word ...my buddy had a front wheel vibration on his 1500... I put dyna beads in his tires ...same result... no vibration ..it was smooth ...he left his weights on.... the beads work
I just installed Dyna Beads today on my 86 1200 SEi.. I took it just for a quick trip into town and back and I think it rode smoother 45-65mph but can't tell from red light to red light but I understood that before. Looking forward to put some miles on this week and see how it feels
Sure they work ..... and my wife's washer has that high speed spin dry and it works might near as well .... wet clothing being a bit heavier and stickier that beads that are dry in a tire.
I've been using dynabeads for about four years now...I'll never go back to lead weights.
And, if you are careful, you can recycle the beads and use them over and over and over again!
Well, I had ranted and raved about them a while ago, and just the other day, the tire guy and I did an experiment while installing 2 new rear tires on the trike. Balance WITH the 2 oz. of beads= 4.0 oz. out of balance on one, and 4.5 oz. out on the other. Installed regular wieghts= zero out of balance on both. ???????? jimsjinx
has anyone used them in a tire with a tpm in the rim ive seen where they dont recommend them used with tpm ? is that true?

That's because the balance machine does not allow the necessary oscillation that make the beads work. The oscillation makes the beads go where they are needed. Without it they just distribute evenly throughout the tire.
Whew! I'm glad that experiment was a bust! I spent near 30 bucks for those darned beads! The front of the trike DID smooth out when I put em in. So I bought the kit for the rear 2 tires. Thanks, Broke! And about the tire pressure monitors... the dust from the beads will clog the sensors. Ask me how I know!!!!! I even used the special schrader valves that came with the beads, and THEY plug up! They stick open sometimes adjusting the air pressure. jimsjinx
Best to blow the dust or errant beads out of the Schrader valve before checking pressure. Just a quick shot from an air hose is all you need.
Unfortunately, I was on the road, and was taking a bit of air out of the front tire. The compressor on the trike works, but the adapter hose for air didn't work when I hit the button. I was about 2 blocks from a gas station, so I was able to BUY air for a dollar. The valve cleared, and all was well again. jimsjinx
I would never try to test tire pressure with beads unless I had first cleared the valve with air.

Hindsight is 20 20 ya know
My 600th post, and I used it for Dyna Beads. I thought it might be something with insight. Something deep. Oh well, there's always no. 1000
