I did manage to get it out, but it seemed a bit harder than it should have been. Actually, it made me think, "I wonder if it is supposed to come out at all?"

Did I miss something or is it justa wee bit tight on the coming out?

Of course it is, but sometimes the heads of the4 screws holding it down tear because they are made of putty. :?

Take off the lining along the top of the airbox. Also, once you've got it out, put the lower gasket on the carb plenum, rather than the bottom of the airbox. That will give you top/bottom room to squeak it in there. Unhook the fusebox, if it's a 78-79 and move it out of the way first too. Then just lift/angle the closest end of the airbox up and out first. Hope that helps.
