Take off the lining along the top of the airbox. Also, once you've got it out, put the lower gasket on the carb plenum, rather than the bottom of the airbox. That will give you top/bottom room to squeak it in there. Unhook the fusebox, if it's a 78-79 and move it out of the way first too. Then just lift/angle the closest end of the airbox up and out first. Hope that helps.
