engine flush

hi has anyone ever done an engine oil flush by removing the 4 bolts on the right side of

the engine behind the oil filter of the 83 gw is this necessary to do?

can this also be done on a 1984 gw since i have 2 bikes??

Much easier to pour some Seafoam in the crankcase, run it for a bit, then drain it all out.

On the 1100, It's a good idea to check the pickup screen behind that cover for clogging if you never have, it could reduce oil flow if clogged with junk.
The 1200 doesnt have any way to get at that screen other than splitting the case.

I wouldnt disturb those bolts in case I caused a leak. I prefer to flush with cheap oil at oil change time, then let it drain for about an hour before filling with the good oil.
