engine guards GL1100

I have an 82 interstate and I am looking at a set of engine guards on e-bay for an 81.The reason I am looking at these is they have a vertical bar toward the front that I could put my foot pegs on.Theengine guardsI have now does not have this front vertical bar and I can't mount the pegs where it is comfotable to me. Will these guards fit my 82

Those with the vertical bar came from the'83 model originally. They'll fit your '82.

I was looking at them, they do look nice....

Have no intention of buying though, so good luck!

The 1983 guards are also better because they are flared out more so you don't bang your shins, and yes they will fit your 82.

I really don't care for the flared ends on the later 1100 guards as they tend to be awkward for my feet when running highway pegs or boards mounted to them. I prefer the after market ones I have now, at least till I find a nice set of 80 guards without the flare.

I just tighten the !@#$out of mine on my 83 Aspy. Does ok as long as I do not drop it.
