I think it's time to pick up a book or two for working on my 1200's. I've already got the service manual so I need advice for how to type manuals like Clymer/Haynes. I re re read the tutorial on belt change and it mentioned valve adjustment/timing so here I go again.

I would guess that they are asking you to make sure that you have set the valves to the proper adjustment prior to changing the belts so that all is good when you are done.

There is no valve adjustment on a 1200 and the only timing is the cam belts.

For real?!! Oh thank you thank you thank you Dave!:dude: What- are the valves self adjusting? I used to have a Nighthawk with self adjusting valves. The tutorial was for the 1100 and it said to check valve adjustment.
