Engine wisdom or heart transplant, GL1100

I need some Goldwing wisdom. I have an engine available to me that is from an 1981 Interstate. If I put it in my 82 Aspencade will I have to also transfer some parts off my old engine? As in is the electrical output the same? What about theCarbs?


Please let me know on these parts, and if there is some thing else that I should be aware of.

I would guess that the block is the same but suspect the Aspy goodies need Aspy feeds for the info. A bump so a more knowledgeable member can reply.

As for the engine transfer I believe that there is no much difference and that it would work goodwith any 1100 carbs (thoughit could slightlyaffect the performanceif the carbs are not exactly proper ones for that year) and it shouldn'tbe a big problem toreplace another engine to a GL as long as the displacement is the same (1100 in your case). But the other chaps will tell better.
