Even another speedo question

I have a ticking noise coming from my speedometer. It gets faster as I speed up and looking closely I can see a slight shake in the speedo needle. I'm wondering if its the cable or speedo itself?

Instead of going for a ride, disconnect the cable from the front wheel and use a drill to spin it. :cheeky1:

Most likely....... it's in the speedometer.

I'm hoping it might just be the cable. I pulled the inner cable out and there is a slight but noticeable kink about 4" up from the wheel end. I'll fit a new cable this weekend before I go any further.

If you disconnect the cable from the hub, you still haven't isolated the cable and speedometer. If you disconnect it at the speedo, you'll know if it's one or the other. Sounds like you found it. The inner cable can't have any bends in it, it won't spin freely, and will "click" like you say.
