Has anyone ever don a Exhaust Back pressure profile of a Goldwing Gl1500? Or does someone know what the exhaust back pressure reading would be at different loads. They make back pressure gauges which can give you a reading if you tap a port in the exhaust system, not sure where the reading would be taken??

The way the standard set-up is on the 1500 ?



Probably zilch, diddely-squat, zero. It's a wonder the exhaust fumes find their way out at all.



Seriously, there will be some, so that scavenging can used to help fill the cylinders, but it won't be much.

Gl1500 exhaust back pressure

I ride an 89 Gl1500 Gold Wing /Road Smith Trike Conversion. It's time to look for new mufflers. Since there is room and few folks look under my Trike - I'm leaning toward going with a pair of auto mufflers. If I keep my stock pipe exhaust diameters - is there any reason I should expect back pressure problems?

I think most of that is taken care of in the pre-chamber or whatever its officially called, whatever muffler you want to use will probably work fine.
