So I finally got my whole (hole
) exhaust system off and the mufflers are in better shape than I thought. I had bought a set of mufflers (back in July) but found that my existing system was welded (all the way around not and lightly either) where headers joined the mufflers. So basically I am going to keep my existing (non-stock) system but have a question ...
The cross member (about 1.5 inches diameter) has seperated from the mufflers on both sides and I was wondering whether it makes more sense to have some weld over the holes or get a new cross member made (the existing one is rusted to bits) and welded in place? It seems to me that it wasn't doing that much but don't want to eliminate a critical part and also don't want to do something that would involve resyncing the carbs
