Exhaust system for an 83 1100 I

The exhaust on my 1100 is going, it's obvious, I've had to put some exhaust patch on one of the down pipes under the heat guard. It's enough to get me through the season, but I'm looking to replace them.

My question is this, what are the recommendations for a where to buy a complete system.

I like the ones that are on it with the heat guards and I'd like to stay with them. The next thing that's important to me is noise, I like a quiet exhaust system, after 38 years of riding the "loud pipes saves lives" fantasy has past with Barney, Mickey Mouse and the tooth fairy.

So what brand and where do you suggest I look?

I bought an 82 left to go on my 83 A....would bolt to head and frame correctly but could not connect crossovers...finally cut the crossovers and capped with a cap fabbed by muffler shop, but could have used flex pipe instead.
Morally of the story 83's are EVER SO SLIGHTLY different than 82 or 81's. They will bolt on but you have to "cobble" the crossover arrangement... no big deal.

If its quietness you want, I believe the Honda mufflers are quieter than any aftermarket systems.

I can agree with BenMilner. Honda OEM mufflers are probably the quietest but check out denniskirk.com. I put a new 4 to 2 system on my old CB 750 and it fit and looks real good but did give the bike more tone. Not real bad but is louder. Kind of gives it a nice kackle.

I put Motad SS on my 80 GL1100, the engine make more noise then the exhaust does now.

That's the best system available for the 1100 wing.:clapper:

I love it, just wish I could get a 4 into 4 that would fit my 1974 CB550. I am going to end up fabricating my own because after market steal ones are about #1200USD. The Motad was about $600USD for the wing.
