The f1 light flashes 5 times when first started up. Believe this to be oxygen sensor but not sure so need to check it out. Can anyone help

with the engine running and the side stand down count the flashes, the long flashes each represent 10, the short flashes indicate 1. the # will then give the right code. from the list I have there isn't a 5 code. Get back to us and someone will have the answer, thanks john

WILLIAM,a 15 code indicates a loose or poorly connected #4 injector wire, open or short in #4 injector or a failed #4 injector. generally the engine will not start. #4 should be the middle injector on the left. The true GL1800 guru here is Kit Carson. he should be around soon to answer any questions. If not PM him. I don't have a shop manual yet so my knowledge is limited to what I find in the forums.

hope this helps john

Hi John:

You are correct , it is the number 4 injector.

Thanks Kit, I found the flash codes but seeing as how you have the shop manual I thought there may be something else. The flash code sheet indicated that the bike would not start. William says the bike will start. Could be a poor connection.

Glad you didn't hurt yourself as you were pirouetting around the garage LOL
