Hi,

I have a gl 1100 from 81 that has been sitting for over 5 years.
I cleaned the carbs and now she is running good.
My only problem is that i have a false neutral between 4 end 5 and sometimes between 3th and 4th gear.

I removed the shift cover so i can see the shift drum turning. (like the picture below)
The schift drum is turning but it stops in between the 2 gears if i shift a little harder it turns farther and gows in gear.

What can be the problem that the shift drum is not turning far enough to click in gear? And if i then shift harder it suddenly turns farther in to gear.

Thnx,

Make sure the shifter is not hitting anything on the up stroke. Otherwise it could be a loose bolt on the linkage inside the case.

Yes i have this when i'm riding that i'm in between gears.
But when i take off the cover to inspect i just turn the back wheel...

And no its not hitting anything on the up stroke.
