Hi guys

went out for a ride yesterday and a of a sudden my 89"s tach started not working right.

Will driving 60mph the tach reads almost the red line and at idle its at 1500 rpm. No other problem with the bike??

What gives:?

With the engine turned off does the needle drop to zero?

If the cruise changes speed up and down too, lube or replace the Speedo cable. Fixed my 89.

Got the bike home that night and the next morning, it was fine, no other problem! She was just messing with me.

My tach doesn't work at all on very cold mornings. After the sun comes up and warms everything, it works fine.
