I was wondering if any one had a pic of the spring set up for the false tank on a 77 gl1000, Mines got the spring and the little slide thing, but if hooked up, it can only be opened about 2 inches, and the spring doesn't hold it up at all.

Now I got my bike running I can worry about all the little things.

I haven't seen this in manuals. Some kind member might be able to take a picture and post it for you.

Hey,

I had to figure mine out after taking it apart - I got it right! I'll take and send a pic tonight if no one beats me to it.

You're right - there aren't any diagrams anywhere thatI was able to find. Stupid me got lucky this time.

Hi again,

The pics are here:

http://www.falconkits.com/tank/

They are pretty large in dimension, but the file sizes aren't too large (around 250k each, IIRC). I hope they help. I still have the tank off the bike, so if you need pics of another area, let me know.

Jack

PS - I just noticed you said that yours was a 77 - mine is an 83I. Sorry if these aren't any help. :(
