Final Drive fluid change?

Hello Folks,

I asked this question on another site and got some good answers and am just looking for a little more input. I rode my 2008 wing for 20 miles then into the garage on the level floor and up onto the center stand. I checked the fluid before I drained it and according to the owners manual the fluid was to be at the bottom edge of the fill hole. The fluid was a tad bit lower than the book spec. so I drained it into a measuring cup and got just a smidge over 4 ozs. I added the new fluid til it ran out of the fill hole and waited till it quit dripping out and installed the plug and then rechecked for leaks after another 20 mile ride. I sure don't want to create a leak as gear oil expands when it gets hot. What are your thoughts? Yeah I know, the older I get the more I worry about stuff :action:. Thanks for your help!

That's the correct procedure and amount. Rest easy! :cooler:

Also, there's a vent at the top of the drive casing, to deal with expansion and heat. The final drive is not sealed shut once you close the fill hole!
