a couple of weeks ago i posted on here about getting a new to me 83 wing,I finally got to bring it home 2 days ago, what a beautiful ride, this bike is sweet and rides like a brand new bike, the one problem i have found with it is the back tire is scalloped a bit,any idea what would cause this,i have never seen a back tire scallop before, the tire is about 7 years old and is a dunlop elite 2,it only has 7000 kilometers on it,if it ever stops raining i will get out for a ride and take an updated pic and post it

The 83 is the best of the 1100 series , though they are all just about bullet proof . Rear tires will scallop . At 7 yrs old I would recommend you replace both tires only because of age . Proper air pressure will help the scallop effect not occur as soon . Also some tread designs show this wear pattern sooner than others . My 83 with a ChegShin ( ? ) was scalloped when I bought the bike , changed to a set of Metzler Marathons which also did this . The Avons now on the bike dont have enough miles to say how they will last .

The best thing you can do for scallops is add some bread crumbs, butter, and a little lemon.:cooldevil:
