I've seen on many 100 and1200 where the trunks were damaged on the lid where the upper section was missing sections where is covered the seal to the lower section. This was also the case with the 1200 I bought this summer. I didn't have the money to replace and repaint the upper section, so I was left with the typical, what to do about problem.

My solution was this.

Go to any autoparts store and buy a strip of chrome molding with the self adhesive strip on the back. Cut it to fit and put it on. It cover's the damaged area, provides a barrier in the event of wet ride, and looks **** good. In fact, it would look good even if there was no damage.

As you can see in the pic, all you can see is a nice chrome strip around the trunk and it cost me less than $20.00 to fix and was done in about half an hour.
