I broke the antenna off my 86A mount and need to install a new one. I haven't taken the seat or false tank off yet to trace the antenna lead back to the radio. Where does the antenna lead plug in? All the way back to the radio? Or is there a lead out from the radio? If I have to go back to the radio what's the best way to get it pluged in?

Thanks.

PS Just finished my alternator conversion. Works Great! A bit of trimming here and there but the final word is, 12.5 Volts at 1000 RPM 13.5 Volts at 1300 RPM and 14.4 Volts at anything over 1360 RPM. Pulleys are 1 to 1. Quiet and cool. NO MORE STATOR!!!

As far as I remember, the antenna lead plugs in under the left fairing pocket. It runs along the left side of the bike.

Jason is right, there is a small box under the pocket and the antenna connects to it.

Well done on the alternator conversion. :clapper:

Thanks Eddie. So glad to see the lead for the radio so easy to get to for a change.
