This is just my $0.02 worth, but if it were me, even on the limited budget I'm on, I would repair what needs to be, and ride it like I stole it. But that's just me. :)

Pics would help... but I'd fix it and then do something with it myself.

I might have been interested had this been three weeks ago, but now I'm Gold Wing poor...Two setting in my garages......But if you still want to sell it, here is what you need to do...First what year is it, and model??? Aspencade, Interstate, what goodies it has, such as radios etc..... Is the mileage 2,700 or 27,000 total, and post some pictures and most of all your asking price.....

I just bought a 1982 Gold Wing Interstate that had been setting up since 1984..With only 14,041 miles on it...( I put 12 of those miles on it my self )....The salvage yard I bought it from was going to "break" it down for parts..The mechanic mistook "Check it out" to mean "see if you can make it run" and he did get it running.....Now I gave $1900.00 dollars for it and it rides, even with 28 year old tires, like a brand new one....

I did have them replace the timing belts before I brought it home my "New Baby" I just wanted to get on it and ride it, not that I couldn't done it myself but they had to fix a water leak so while they had it tore down I paid extra to have those belts changed out.....Of course I am going to have to rebuild front fork seals...No biggie....

If you haven't punched a hole in a piston with 2,700 miles or even 27,000 miles it would be worth the expense for a "new head"...I will give "Tigger", my favorite breaker a call and see how much he wants for a good used head....Then you will only be out a new head gasket, timing belts, which can be bought from your local auto parts house "Cheap", a little anti freeze, and for a few dollars you can get it back on the road.......

There are tutorials on how to change out timing belts ..step by step, with some great pictures too, on the forum....There is all the information on "How to do it your self" on how to tear it down, replace parts, and even the torque values on all bolts, etc....Members helping members....I used these tutorials to change the belts on my other Wing....it wasn't hard at all to do, just time consuming, and a great feeling after wards of knowing I had done it right.....

Good luck with what ever you decide to do.....OH yeah welcome to the "WORLDS GREATEST GOLD WING FORUM"...

Claude.....
