fork exchange gl1000-gl1100

Hi all,Im another newby to winging. My question is,are the forks from a "78" gl1000 the same size ,as an "83" gl 1100? I know that the "83" has air adjustments on them ,but I want to replace the seals and put them on my wifes "78" wing.I need to know if the length is the same,can someone help me please.

differant stops on the triple trees and differant diameter size of the tubes so i would say no without some machining. jb

You would need to use the entire triple tree.
