My first post, My 91 se has never had the fork oil changed, I do not have any holes on the top of my forks to add oil, and I am not sure how I would drain or add oil to the forks? A scary thought but could aguy drill a hole on the top of the fork system to add oil on a1991 se?Would I drain the oil from the anti-dive area of the forks? Do I have to remove the whole fork system? Any ideas or thoughts from you all would be read closely. I was wondering if there was any links to a tutorial on this subject as my search proved fruitless. Thanks in advance and enjoyed searching through this new found group of wingnuts.

Hello and thanks for the info. I am just checking my metal piture in my minds eye. If I were to replace my fork oil (with the fork still on the bike), I would first drain the oil from the bottom of the fork leg. Then I would remove my "fork bolt cap", now I would see my "fork bolt" which in my manual it saysWARNING "this fork bolt is under pressure" so loosen (but do not remove) the fork bolt. In my minds eye would I be able to have enough room to get the new fork oil inside the fork leg by just loosening this "fork bolt" slightly? Or is the only option to drill a hole in the top centre of the "fork bolt"? I would perfer to not drill, but my original forkoil probably needs to be changed out. Thanks for any ideas on this winged mystery within the confines of my mind.

I will attemp this long over due fork oil change out. I was thinking if I would be able to siphon the old fork oil out from the top. I have a large siphon unit I use on my truck diff. and with a long enough tube attached, siphon the old oil out or am I dreaming again.

When you say "remove the littlebolts and walk away", It does not say in my service manual how to drain the oil in the fork legs, but it does say "drain the oilbefore servicing the anti-dive system." I am looking at my service manual and the picture of the anti-dive case, I see 4 black bolts(socket bolts)on each corner of theanti-dive cover,and a (stopper ring, pivot collar and boot and behind this there would be a spring), then underneath this unit is one bolt in the lower centre of the anti-dive case. To me it looks like that one bolt would be the one I use to drain the fluid from each fork leg. Thanks for your patience, this is new territory for me.
