Easy to miss leak.

I had a few drops of fork oil on the top of the dust seal cover. Also down the chrome fork legs. I thought the fork seal had leaked and popped off the dust cover for a look. Nothing not a trace of oil.

Found out it usually happened after hitting a large bump. Not much just a couple of drops of oil.

Then I had a brain wave ( not a regular occurrence ask the wife!)

I felt up under the chrome head light ears against the top of the chrome leg and bingo! Oil.

It was weeping out of the top of the leg from the cap O ring seal I guess.

What a relief I had dreams of taking the fork leg to bits again.

I love a simple fix I don't happen to often.

Good catch! I've been lucky and never had a leak there, but a friend of mine did. Drove him crazy!

I found such a leak, too. Took her to the local Honda shop to find that the left fork tube has a dent in it. I stopped doing my own repairs many years ago. $710 to replace both tubes.

Maybe it's time to play mechanic again.
