:waving::waving:Welcome to the Best Goldwing Site on the Net, Mt.Mike!:waving::waving:

Put them in with the hollow or open side facing the oil, i.e. down. A little Moly grease in the lip wouldn't hurt, and you should put a layer of smooth tape over any groove or threads the seal will pass over, it doesn't take much to damage the sealing lip.

Hi Mt.Mike, another way to explain the seal position is to install the seal with the double lip side facing down into the fork leg and the single lip side facing up towards the triple tree. If you install the seal with the single lip facing down you will end up with a leak within 50 - 100 miles almost garanteed.

Thank's I had one in upside down, and your response was in time to make adjustments to that one and do the next one correctly. Hopefully it saved a lot of hassle for later.
I make some changes to profile and hopefully will catch on with the rest as I go along.
Thanks Again

Mike, I think it was the Clymer manual that showed the seal being fitted wrong way up! They had to issue a page with the correction.

Yes welcome Mt.Mike. Max is right about the Clymer, that was a very big boob on their part and people are still getting confused about it all these years later. :?
