would like to know if i can change my standard front forks to air controlled forks and what parts might i need to change over

You can either remove the fork caps on your bike and drill and tap for schrader valves or you can order a pair of fork caps from a seller like Motogrid. There are several years of 1500s that had valves,they should fit any 1500. There aren't any other changes needed, just install the valves and pump a bit of air into them. No 1500s have the front forks plumbed to the forks. The pressure limit is around 11psi if I remember.

A better way to improve the performance of a 1500 is to replace the OEM fork springs with Progressive springs. I have them and don't use any air pressure in the forks of my '93, there's no need even two up with full touring gear aboard.
