Hand caliper is leaking bad (Blown seal). Manual says take off boot (missing), circlip (missing), and washer (missing). The piston, secondary cup, primary cup, and spring should come out. It says I may have apply low air preasure to the cylinder outlet. I still can't get this out. Am I missing a step or should apply more preasure until it pops out? The piston seems to working fine except the fact it will not stop leaking. When I aplly the brake I am getting no stopping preasure, Any ideas? :(

You're talking about the Master Cylinder right?, well about the missing parts, i guess someone else (PO?) used the wrong rebuild kit or lost them while cleaning it. before you go any further you need to buy a oem honda rebuild kit that will include all parts you're missing. use more air and see if it works, the boot has a flat washer it could be still there hiding the circlip.

If you're sure the circlip is missing then the piston should have popped out. Its down inside the cylinder about 3/4" and can be hidden by dirt, rust and the congealed and dried brake fluid. When you're sure the circlip is out if the piston doesn't come out easily then let it soak in WD-40 and/or PowerBlaster until it'll come out. LOL!!!

The rubber boot comes off the end and protects the end of the piston:

Then if you look down into the cavity, you can see the circlip:

Ok I got a temp repair. My current budget does not provide for rebuild kit so I had to make due. The missing boot was trashed and hiding the circlip. When the circlip was removed the piston easily came out. My cup ring was shot. After some phone calls it was suggested I try the plumbing dept at Lows. Some skillful razor work on 3/8" flanged washer will due the trick for 2 bucks. I due not recomend this for your safety but for me it's working until I can get better. Thanks for the replies.

I got my front master cylinder rebuild kit from partsnmore.com for $20 - worth the peace of mind knowing my brakes are working OK. :) That's the cheapest I could find - they sell for twice that on eBay and elsewhere.

Just remember partsnmore.com has a $35 minimum order, so do the rear at the same time :)
