I'm frustrated with the process of finding mufflers for my 1979 Goldwing. I don't need an entire system - just the mufflers. MAC Performance has some, but they are only listed for '76-78 GL 1000s. How are the '79s different?

I don't want something very loud - just a good set of exhaust pipes. Does anyone recommend a universal fit option if the MAC performance pipes really don't fit?

Thanks for your help - exhaust is the last thing I need to really get this thing on the road.

According to the parts books the 76-77 used a one piece muffler and the 78-79 used separate mufflers with a separate cross over pipe.

You might try searching the site for sportster or harley mufflers. I thnk some folks have found that the stock sportster mufflers work well.

It may be a little expensive for you I don't know.

Motad are an international brand available in most parts of the world.

They make one for your bike in stainless but be prepared for a heart stopping price.

I have one and I can safely say it nearly doubled the value of my bike overnight.

You have been warned. That said they are top notch and last a very long time.
