i am having trouble with the fuel system, i have replaced the hose from the tank to the filter and filter to the pump as it was kinked ad restricting flow. the bike ha sat for 3 yr and not prepared for it. so i am getting strong flow to the pump but nothing from it when ignition is on and start button is pressed. i am a very amateur mechanic! so my guess is that it could be a safety stopping it or an electrical problem or it may be broken! is there a way to test it or is there a sequence to when it activates?

many thanks Ali

Problem solved! it was as simple as solving the problem with the coil and the pump started to work. from what i can gather its a safety stopping it from flooding the engine if the coils are not working. this ol' girl will be soon working!!!

the pump works with coil signals. if the couls are short it may prevent the pump from working. not really a safety feature.
