Do I need to replace the fuel pump or are they rebuildable....such as "O" rings gaskets or such. My right foot is starting to smell like gasoline.....Ha! Ha! Any advice would help. Thanks

Can ya help us out by telling us what kind of bike you
have? On the GL1000 and GL1100 I know of the weep hole, because
it peed on me too. Replace the pump through one of the discount
parts houses, it's around $60. They are not rebuilable.

If it's a GL1000 or GL1100 there are plenty on ebay. That's the route I went for my bike... luckily the GL1100 pump will also fit a GL1000. The 1100 pump is probably a better pump.

Don't replace a 20+ year old pump with another 20+ year old
pump. Makes no sense at all. The rubber diaphragm gets brittle,
and will leak whenever it feels like it. Regardless if it comes
off a bike with 200,000 miles, or 10,000 miles, it's the age that kills
them. True, the higher mileage pumps may last a bit longer, since
the shorter mileage pump has had many wet / dry cycles, creating rot
when dry.

So far so good with my 20+ year old pump. On long trips I carry a spare and can change it in ten minutes. I can buy a lot of $15 pumps on ebay for the price ofone new one.
