Seems like just a couple of days ago there was a thread on this, but now I can't find it.

On the GL12, is there a way to replace the sensor for the low fuel light? Since I got the bike back from the dealership, mine hasn't been working.

Maybe they forgot to connect the wire.

Test for the light

Q. How can I check if the low fuel warning light is working on my GL1200?

A. Well, draining the tank is one way, but I assume you don't want to do that. The other way is to remove the saddle, then disconnect the connector block from the sender unit and short the green wire to the blue/white wire. The fuel light will come on if it is working.

could do a resistance test of the sensor. wiggle the bike to see if it changes the reading.

my two cents

Guage is working, and I have pretty much figured out that the part that triggers the light is shot. I thought someone had a fix for that. I was just reading a thread on this but now I can't find it.

Thanks Klwatts, that's the one I was looking for.

I don't know but it seems to be for the 15 only. The 12 is different.

I had one of those sending units...uhm, uh...19 or 20 years ago...can you believe I can't remember where I put it?

Dennis, I got a couple I believe in my garage, I'll check when I get home from work and see if you want me to.
