I have a 86 aspencade. It has rust in the tank.:(After reading up on cleaning and sealing the tank...... I have determined that it woulld be more cost effective, and less labor just to swap out the tank with a clean used one.I purchased a clean tank on fleabay for a 85 aspy....... and the replacement tank I have acquired has a vaccuum line/system that hooks to the fuel cap? Before I tear into this endevour, will this tank work OK for my 86? I think it will by just using the tank cap that is on the 86 tank. The part numbers on service honda says the 86 tank # replaces the 3 different tank #'s for the 85.

Just looking for a little re-assurance that I am on the right track.

Hoping for a warm and fuzzy feeling going in.

ok........ after some research. I think what I am looking at is a vapor recovery for Cali bikes? Cuz my bike don't have all this plumbing that is pictured on the tank. My question is will the replacement tank vent ok and deliver fuel properly with the 86 gas cap?

Anybody?
