American Legion Rider Greg "Ebay" Hansen

Our American Legion Rider Brother, Greg "Ebay" Hansen, left this world on his 56th birthday, 22 December 2008, after an extended illness. Greg was very active in the American Legion and American Legion Rider organizations, serving for the past few years as an American Legion Rider Area Director for Kansas, and as past Director of ALR 406 Chapter Andover, and held other offices within his ALR Chapter. He was a past member of ALR 136 Mulvane, and left to start the new ALR 406 Chapter in Andover. Greg was one of the American Legion Riders who co-founded the Patriot Guard and served as a Patriot Guard Co-Captain in Kansas. Greg was a SGT in the US Army 26th Airborne Pathfinder Platoon, and many of the Airborne Jumpers that he served with are planning to attend the services.

Johnnie "Jak" Keller, US Army SSG (retired) served with Greg will bring a pair of jump boots and beret to be displayed at church services. Greg's motorcycle will also be displayed.

Greg's family requested the American Legion Riders to handle the funeral mission.
All Patriot Guard members are invited by the family.
American Legion Riders Post 406, Andover, Kansas will lead the escort processions.

The American Legion Riders of Kansas extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Greg "Ebay" Hansen.

United Methodist Reverend Kenton "Saint" Van, a member of American Legion Rider Post 45, former member ALR Post 136, Patriot Guard member and a US Marine Corps Veteran

American Legion 136 member and Kansas Patriot Guard bagpiper Charles "Bagpiper" Liles will provide inspirational music.

Andover Police Department Chief Mike Keller will assign police officers to lead the processions.

The assigned Road Guard Captain and Road Guards will direct traffic at staging area parking lot, at church parking lot, and assist Andover Police leading the procession.

Bring your motorcycle flagpole and flag if you have one.
Weather will be a cool 40 degrees. May be rain late afternoon.
Bring water, snack, rain gear, wear warm riding gear

Final staging area: Andover, KS

1200 hr (12:00PM) Northeast corner of Central and Andover Road
Line up in column of 2 north of Wendy's parking lot west side facing north
Flagged bikes will line up at front; flag protocol is required
Nonflagged bikes will line up in secondary area

1245 hr (12:45PM) Depart to Hope Community Church

Park motorcycles in column of 2 in areas designated by staging crew and road guards
Form Avenue of Flag in designated areas

1330 hr (01:30PM) Arrival of the family escorted by ALR 406 motorcycle honor guard

1400 hr (02:00PM) Funeral Services start
US Army will provide full military honors at the church

Dinner following church service at Andover Central Middle School, 903 East Central Avenue.

Andover Police and ALR 406 motorcycle flag honor guard will escort family and friends to the dinner.
The remaining motorcycles will follow family, flagged bikes first, as in all processions.

Prayers go out to the Hansen family. EBay was a monumental part of the Patriot Guard and he will never be forgotten for his military service and his service with the American Legion Riders and The Kansas Patriot Guard. May God Bless You Greg!:bowing:

My condolences to the family and friends of Greg "Ebay" Hansen. I have rode many missions because of the dedication this man. I wish to thank you for your service to your country, to the ALR and to the PGR. May you now Rest In Peace.

Me & Olive got there in time to see some of the procession passing Wendy's with the police escort and, at least, were able to pay respect to Greg Hansen whom was known to us as a friend of the family.

He served his Country well. May he rest in peace and his family be blessed.
