Hi all

The fuse box in this 1980 gl1100a has the old glass type fuses.

I am looking at replacing this to the newer spade type set up.

can it be done

not a big deal jsut get a box that will fit in the same space if you can and has at least as many circuits,.. a few extra wouldn't hurt...and hook up the lines correctly/in the same order. You could even jsut cut all the wires and attached blade holders and have no box..not as neat. The whole thing is just a break in the lines so a fuse can be inserted.

The glass fuses are all still available and since they last for years unless there is a problem, why would you want to replace it?

There is no problem with the original. It's just that I find glass ones hard to get and in an emergency I don't carry spares. I usually only have a problem late at night with only petrol stations to turn to. They have only modern spade ones. Just thought i would help myself out by changing it over.

Thanks for your input. I will use this to find a solution.

cheers all.
