1998 GL1500se California model.

In the future will I have more issues getting some parts because of this? sensors, ECU, vacuum stuff..... ? Compared to a standard 1998 GL1500se

Thanks

If you don't live in Cali, why don't you just de-smog it?

I didn't know I had a choice?

I was told by a Honda Mechanic that the ECU is different than a non-california ECU so you cannot just disconnect the extra polution control stuff, disconnect/wait/reconnect the battery for a reset.

Where can I find a outline to de-californiaizing my bike?

Any cons that I should konw?

Thanks

I used to have a '94SE that came from California.

I just took off the extra crap and threw it away.

Never noticed any problems with it.

There are hoses that go down to a canister under the bike, got rid of both. No difference in operation.

Doesn't the ECU alter engine settings based on the input from those sensors as well as return unburned gas to the engine to be burned before exhausted?

Also isn't the carbs set to account for burning gases from the exhaust that have not burned? Without those return gases one has changed the carb setup?

So if I removed all polution stuff, would I not also need to rejet/reset the carbs?

Why not just leave alone until when and if it has a problem. Then if you can't get a California specific part convert it to a 49 state ECM.

Just curious as time goes on and parts get fewer.

Thanks to all

I understand your concern flw. But you can just remove the smog pars and your Wing won't run any differently. Lots of owners done it already.
