Just curious, what is a patch holder and 1%? No offense just wondering.
Oh, no offense taken at all, and I'm glad to explain.
Patch Holder- If you see a guy on a motorcycle, most of the time a Harley, with a patch in the middle, and an arched patch above and below (ie: Viet Nam Vets, Legacy Vets, Second Brigade, Hells Angels, etc...) with MC on one of the patches somewhere, then you're looking at a Patch Holder.
The Club I support and ride with has patches that look like these
They are a neutral club, which means they claim no territory, and are known to be generally law abiding. Their cause is the American Soldier, and any soldier classified Missing In Action or Prisoner Of War. Anyone who has earned the right to wear the 3-piece patch (the MC patch above is an "outrider") is called a Patch Holder.
As I have never served in the armed forces due to a physical defect that classified me as unfit for duty in any capacity, I can never earn either of the above patches...A fact which pains me more than the arthritic hips that made me unfit for duty. But I still support the cause, and most importantly, I support the men who served who support the cause in whatever capacity they ask of me.
A better definition of 1% and 1% clubs than I could ever give can be found
AT THIS LINK
For those out there who have not dealt with Patch Holders from any club in the past, if you ride alot, you will occasionally run into Clubs and Patch Holders. It's going to happen. Just remember, treat them with the same level of respect that you would want them to treat you with, and it will be returned.
And Phatty, not to worry. I've actually seen the title, and it matches the numbers on the bike.
