Hi guys (and Gals),



My Garmin zümo 550 no longer has it's AC adapter. It's gone, disappeared, left home etc.

But, being the "Go-to-guy" for smartphones at work (amongst other things to do with computers) I have a desk full of ac adapters for smartphones with mini USB connectors with outputs of 5V / 0.8 to 1.0 A



Can I use one of these as a replacement? I can't find any mention of the output current in the manuals.

I found the adapters for phones would not work, nor do some of the USB / Cigg Adapters, The do not have enough output. It dosen't hurt to try them. I just got the computer connected screen. :waving:

I just looked at my Garmin AC adaptor for my 2730.
It states 12V at 1.0 amps

My nuvi 660 and both the 2730 will power up off the USB cord from the PC though...

The 12V cord adapter for the nuvi 660 states "12V at 3.0 amps fuse"


So, I'm thinking that if you find one at more than an 1 amp, you are good to go.

Most USB ports are rated at 4.0 amps or better.
